Otterbox Defender Case for iPhone 4

If you�ve used an Otterbox Defender on previous iPhones, you know what you need to know. Same great protection, all new form factor. If you haven�t used one before, this is basically the full plate armor of iPhone protection in AD&D parlance. You have the hard plastic inner shell for structural support, the soft silicone outer skin for grip and scuff proofing, and a holster to keep it loaded and ready to go on your hip.

Great Product

Pros: Durable, easy to use, great protection, built in screen protector, shows Apple logo and has a protector over it
Cons: Dust gathers in the ear and camera areas, screen cover shows dirt, lint from pocket sticks to rubber, not a big pocket case

The product seems to be great. It was easy to put the phone in, and does a great job protecting it. I havent dropped my phone yet, so I cant say how well it does in a fall, and Im not willing to test it on purpose.

I will say that the places where your earpiece and the cameras are gather a bunch of dust, but a q-tip dampened with a bit of rubbing alcohol will clean it right up. The screen protector also shows dirt easily, but taking the phone out once a month and giving the case/phone a good cleaning does the trick. It isnt a big pocket phone, but the few times I do put it in my pocket you should know that the rubber will hold lint.

All of the cons are just me being OCD and by no means would discourage me from making the purchase again. It is a great case, albeit a bit bulky, and is something that Im happy with because it protects my $300 investment.

Great case if you work in the construction business!! I returned it because it was way to bulky for me. The reason I love the iPhone 4 is because of its form factor and this case defeats that purpose. One issue I had was little lint particles getting under the screen. Otherwise, a great case with great protection.

If you want to really protect your iPhone, this is the case for you. Yes, it does add some bulk to the sleek design, but the security and protection it provides is priceless.

The case offers some of the best protection available. It does add quite a bit of bulk to the sleek iP4, but for me it makes it easier to hold while providing warm fuzzies knowing my device is fully covered and protected from all the little bumps a phone goes through. Its not the easiest thing to install or remove (its not really difficult, but removing/installing the two layers can be a bit time consuming for those with less patience for such things), so those who frequently use docks or other accessories that require a naked device might want to look elsewhere. But it does offer a great deal of protection, and the holster seems rather solid. I recommend it for those who favor protection over showing off the iP4.
