great case .poor clip

Pros: sturdy case
Cons: clip design poor

The case has protected my phone well. the clip is another story all together. Phone has been dropped more times than i could believe. The clip just isnt secure. Most of the time I hear it fall. Got luck one time and it was still laying next to my truck.

I have had my phone drop more times from that belt clip than I have EVER dropped ANY phone Ive owned!! Poor designing on the clip unit. It has a small shelf at the base with a bit of a rise which in my opinion should be at least a quarter of the phones height along with some form of retainer clip haolding fast at the top of the phone itself. The overall design blows and I understand why they charge so much money for the complete case and clip, the case is the only thing that secures your phone. Too bad its so large and bulky

I agree with Tina. The Otter Defender case is great but the Belt Clip is better used as recycled plastic. If you do not push the charger plug in all the way it will not clip in and the phone will fall out. If you dont snap it in all the way it will fall out. In a public place you will loose your Iphone, (I did). I have dropped tested the case many times each day because of the belt clip. Use your pocket or dont use the case at all.

Its very easy to insert the Defender case into the holster in such a way that it appears to be engaged, but actually is not. A small raised dot on each side of the holster is supposed to engage a corresponding detent on the case. If the case is not inserted heads-up and face-in, the dots and detents do not align, and the phone can easily tumble out. While theres no particular need to insert it any other way if one is not using the holster as a viewing stand, the design of the phone, and the case, make it very easy to do so inadvertently.
Further, the clip is designed to be used over a belt, and is loose without one. Its also very flimsy. Mine caught the edge of my car door as I got out, and snapped off. Hence the replacements, I guess. I find that my phone is far safer in my pocket than in this holster.
